The sum of £10 per dog is payable in January of each year in respect of all dogs over the age of six months, except guide dogs, in accordance with the Dog Licences Law, as amended.
Dog Tax can be paid:
- At our offices at Chambre de la Douzaine, Le Murier on Mondays – Fridays between 9.00a.m. and 12.30p.m.
- By post if a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed. Cheques should be made payable to ‘the Constables of St. Sampson’.
It is not the dog that is taxed, rather the owner who pays the tax to keep a dog.
Please let the Constables know if you no longer keep a dog so that records can be kept up to date.
Dog owners failing to pay the tax could render themselves liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding £500 in accordance with the Dog Licences (Guernsey) Law, 1969 (as amended).
